This covers the free market check only — the page where you type a brand and see whether its market is growing. It is short because the tool collects little.
Who we are
[TO CONFIRM: registered company name], trading as Translate Culture, of [TO CONFIRM: registered address], is the controller of the personal data described here. For anything on this page, write to natalie@translateculture.co.
What we collect
| What | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Your name and work email | The form, before we show your result |
| Your brand, what it sells, its website, the country | The form |
| Whether you ticked "I run a DTC brand" and "over £1m a year" | The form |
| The market read we produce for you, and whether you clicked "book a call" | The tool |
| A one-way hash of your IP address | Your browser. We never store the address itself; the hash only lets us cap how many checks come from one place in an hour |
There are no cookies, no analytics and no tracking pixels on this page, so there is no cookie banner to click.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- To run the check and send you the result. Necessary to give you the thing you asked for.
- To follow up about the paid diagnostic. Our legitimate interest in marketing a business service to a business, and yours in hearing about it. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will.
- To keep the tool running. The IP hash stops one visitor spending the month's search budget in an afternoon.
Who else sees it
| Who | What reaches them |
|---|---|
| Google, via SerpApi | The product words only — "scented candles", never your name or email |
| Anthropic | Your brand name, what you sell and your website address, to work out which search terms to read. Not your name or email. Not used to train their models |
| Notion and Google Workspace | Your enquiry, so we can answer it |
| Render | Hosts the tool and its storage, in the EU |
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.
Where your report lives
Your result sits at a long, unguessable web address that we email to you. Anyone with that link can open it, so treat it as you would any link you would not post publicly. Search engines are told not to index it.
How long we keep it
Your enquiry and your report are kept for [TO CONFIRM: 24 months] from your last contact with us, then deleted. Ask us sooner and we will delete them sooner.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it for marketing. Write to natalie@translateculture.co and we will act within one month. If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Not yet checked by a lawyer. The bracketed items above are for Translate Culture to fill in, and the whole page should be reviewed before the tool is advertised.
